Covid-19: 15 districts report marginal spike in Tamil Nadu – Times of India

CHENNAI: Fifteen districts reported a marginal increase in cases on Wednesday, with fresh cases in the state dropping to 962 from 973 on Tuesday.

The state reported 19 deaths and discharged 1,078 people from the registry. At the end of the day, there were 11,012 active cases and the cumulative toll tally reached 36,176.
Two districts Chennai (109) and Coimbatore (105) continued to report cases in three digits. At least 24 districts reported fewer than 20 new cases each and among them 11 of them reported cases in single digits. The two districts also had the highest number of active cases. Chennai had 1324 people under treatment followed by 1246 in Coimbatore. With one new case each in Theni and Ramanathapuram reported the least number of fresh cases followed by four each in Perambalur, Ariyalur, Dindigul and Mayiladuthurai. Meanwhile, with 27 active cases, Theni had the least number of people under treatment followed by 32 in Perambalur.
The sharpest increase in the last 24 hours was reported from Perambalur and Tenkasi. In Perambalur cases went up to 4 on Wednesday from zero on Tuesday. During the same time period cases in Tenkasi rose to 6 from 2. All other districts reported between one and three cases more than Tuesday tally.
