Justice Munishwar Nath Bhandari sworn in CJ of Madras HC – Times of India

CHENNAI: Justice Munishwar Nath Bhandari was sworn in the chief justice of Madras high court on Monday by Tamil Nadu governor R N Ravi.
Justice Bhandari took charge as Acting Chief Justice of the high court on November 22, 2021.
“I indeed feel very fortunate to be one amongst few who got a second welcome at the Madras high court. First as the Acting Chief Justice and now as the Chief Justice,” Justice Bhandari said while accepting the welcome address of the advocate-general R Shunmugasundaram and the Bar.
He added that he would not leave any stone unturned to ensure that justice is rendered to the people at the grass root level.
Earlier, in his welcome address Shunmugasundaram said, “the Court Hall No 1, where his lordship sits as the Chief Justice, is no doubt the best court hall in the country. Senior advocate Fali Nariman told me when I invited him to represent one of my cases that this was the best court hall in the country,” he added.
“Justice Bhandari has been sworn in as the 32nd Indian Chief Justice of the court,” the AG said.
P S Amalraj, chairperson, the Bar Council of TN and Puducherry, G Mohana Krishnan, president, Madras High Court Advocates Association, and other officer-bearers of various Bar associations also welcomed the chief justice.
