Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board held a public meeting in Chennai on January 31 at the Kalaivanar Arangam hall. The purpose of the conference was to get opinions and support from the residents of Chennai about the construction of a pen statue honoring the late Chief Minister M Karunanidhi at Marina beach. At the occasion, DMK supporters gathered and shouted slogans in favor of erecting the statue whereas AIADMK supporters were against the erection which created ruckus.
